The different blends of Tea.

Updated: Sep 4, 2021

Darjeeling, Assam, Masala, Earl Grey..... countless types of teas available in the market...

I know some who prefer different teas at different time of the day... I’m one of those too...(even guilty of the type of cup I like my tea in) After tasting quite a few blends.. I conclude that there isn’t any ‘perfect blend’ of tea.. rather different teas to suit different personalities or tastebuds .. occasions .. and so is the Path one chooses for themselves!

We drive our kids back and forth to every activity and opportunity we can grab or fit in within our 24 hours and even 48 hour weekend... to give them the perfect life.. perfect experiences... We work 12-14 hours a day.. to give our family the perfect home .. perfect holiday.. which fulfils the needs of social media, society and finally our inner desires. The desires that ensure we fit in ... and blend in with others...perfectly !

With all this constant movement.. we are building a generation of timetable followers..

I work with children who may not know the names of the day of the week but they recognise days by the activity they are attending on a particular day..

Are we giving them the time and space to develop their own thoughts.. imaginations .. creativities..
The moment one deviates from the Timetable you have taken a Risk and that needs courage!

These days most children are either spoilt for choices or don’t have a choice at all.. which leads to indecisiveness as the ability to take decisions hasn’t been exercised or practised.

Some might argue that they need direction and trust me no one knows that better than me... but.. and this is a huge BUT... before you give them that direction they need to exercise the power of decision making .. Early on we start, the better as they will Embrace Failure and with that they will not only overcome fear of failure but also further develop their thinking skills and risk taking abilities..

Before the gadgets and the innumerable toys, we had the hot sun, trees, bikes, books, friends, family and this built in us tolerance, determination and imagination. We invented our own games, created our own stories, adapting to various needs and developing our own negotiating skills. Merging the learnings of the two worlds, can enable our children to explore their personalities.

Just as we appreciate the bees and the butterflies fluttering around freely in nature, children too need the freedom to explore the environment.. with that explore their own potential.. their interests.. extending their imaginations... and overcome challenging situations..

Allow them to BE..

Allow them to be BORED..

Allow them to be bored ENOUGH..

Allow them to be bored enough TO..

Allow them to be bored enough to INVENT...

Children are like tea leaves.. each one unique in their own way and having their own distinct characteristics..

In the right chinaware.. right quantity of tea leaves.. the right temp of water.. and the right amount of time to brew... will allow the tea leaves to enhance their flavour...
