I was reading about the evolution of KitKat! I’m sure you are thinking of the red packet and the chocolate! The Japanese market have adapted the KitKat to suit their culture.. and as much as I like the chocolate and sushi, I’m not sure if I would willingly bite into a wasabi or a matcha flavour... Maybe because I’ve only ever imagined one KitKat.. a chocolate snack in a red packaging...
‘Man is a social animal’ .. a phrase we have been hearing since our first ever encounter in history lessons or learning about evolution.. some of us may have also read a book ‘Sapiens’ and in the initial part of the book when different species were evolving.. the author highlights that the species that had maximum chances of evolution and survival were the ones who had developed skills of Communication!
Communication is beyond using words and vocabulary ... it involves gestures, expressions, sounds, noises and emotions and mainly actions.

The ability to communicate has reduced the boundaries and created the word ‘globalisation’, which in turn has brought cultures together, gradually learning to adopt new concepts or configure ourselves to adapt to new innovations or reforms!
In a community .. we are all different with varied ideas or thoughts but how seasoned are we to accept each another’s opinions. Our first reaction to any new proposal is to put a spanner in the works especially if we are used to doing things in our own ways.. but when you involve people into your world.. they will come with new ideas and thoughts.. and instead of closing down we have to learn how best to adopt ... even adapt to new ideas and thought processes. We are so fixated on our version of thoughts in our island of ideas that we overlook the fact that if we merge with each other we are able to create bigger thinking spaces just like our ancestors did to survive and progress !!

Recently, with the pandemic we all have been hit in different ways directly or indirectly... every family has been affected by the impact of the pandemic... we all have been restrained by a tiny virus - invisible to the naked eye within our walls.
By using the power of our BRAIN, human race came up with alternatives ... of keeping in touch with our loved ones ... we made an extra effort to connect with them... we realised the power of communication and the importance of family and friends...and the power of community spirit.

It is this community spirit that kept us going ... looking forward to when we can meet again... giving us a chance to help each other.. looking after the people affected in various ways, either by food services or monetary help for someone in need.
We didn’t think too much about our differences, instead focused our energies towards uplifting one another, improving each others well being and helping to overcome this solitary period within this pandemic.
Even death has become a solitary affair for quite a few families but holding on to the ones around us and looking after the ones near us or still with us has become of paramount interest of everyone.

We have all understood that ‘We are in this Together’ and ‘Together we can come overcome it’!

An interesting fact.....
Butterflies see more of the visible light spectrum than humans can, they see a little further into the red end of the scale and also a further to the violet end, into ultraviolet light
This light sensitivity helps them to find flowers, camouflage into backgrounds and seek other butterflies.
We too should try to see beyond ourselves and see how we can continue contributing to the community for the benefit of us all.. seeking out for each other!
See beyond one’s own self... and you will see the universe.
After all, we all love a KitKat, whatever the packaging....there is a flavour for every taste bud!
